Russell Yaffe is a Boston-born, Brooklyn-based filmmaker and editor whose work has screened on networks from HBO to PBS and at film festivals across four continents. Screenings include the Austin Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Cinequest, IFFBoston, Indie Memphis, and the Cucalorus Film Festival. Russell has long collaborated with documentary production company RAVA Films, creating both short and long form documentary content for renowned arts institutions like MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Art21. His feature film work includes HBO Sports documentary Student Athlete and independent feature films The Sisterhood of Night and Here One Minute, and he has edited numerous digital videos for Buzzfeed. He loves working on Spanish-language projects having spent time living in Buenos Aires and Madrid. He is a founding member of filmmaking collective ridge&clark, and he often makes video projects with his wife, filmmaker Talia Alberts. When he is not making movies, he writes short stories and songs, and he ran a weeklong nonprofit basketball camp in his native Maryland for 20 years.
