Russell Yaffe is an independent filmmaker specializing in documentary editing and narrative films with a bent towards the fantastic, the fatalistic, the funny, and the feels.

A Boston-born, Brooklyn-based producer, writer, director, and editor, Russell's work has screened on networks from HBO to PBS and at film festivals around the globe, including the Austin, Atlanta, BAFICI, Cinequest, and New York Film Festivals. His most recent project, TRIPOLAR THE MOVIE, won the Best Narrative Feature award at the Chicago Underground Film Festival. Russell currently serves as Head of Post Production at Rava Films. He holds a degree from Northwestern University, studied at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, and completed a teaching fellowship in Madrid. He is a founding member of filmmaking collective ridge&clark, and he often makes video projects with his wife, filmmaker Talia Alberts. When he is not making movies, he writes short stories and songs, and he ran a weeklong, nonprofit summer basketball camp in his native Maryland for 20 years.
